The roads are not so bad today but hundreds of people are stuck and stranded form albuquerque and the texas state line (I-40). Good luck. I just finished tearing the cylinder heads off my 1999 7.3 i replaced and found 2 cracks in 2 differant pistons which was explaining why I had so much blow by out of the oil filler tube and the large amounts of oil that was entering the turbo from the breather. The engine can be rebuilt. Well it time to concentrate on the 2000 engine and find why its not firing over. Whating for the snow to melt to get in to it.
In original post didn't you say that you replaced all the injector orings? If this is the case then you drained the fuel rails, did you leave open one of the drain bolts on the back of the block, and maybe the system is picking up air? These engines are very finicky about starting and running when air is introduced to the system. When you reinstalled the injectors did you make sure they were all seated correctly?
Just some thoughts... It really sounds like an air in fuel problem more than a HPOP not driving the injectors.
whenever I have replaced or had injector work done it could take up to a couple of days to completley purge the air out of the system.
Success! Just wanted to let you all know shaggy25ss was nice enough to bring over his SCT programer/scanner and the problem was the cam position sensor. Replaced with a spare and it started right up. Thanks! You all have a great group of people!
Finally some other people from Albuquerque chime in. I thought I was the only forum member in the city. Good to hear you got things cleared up. Good to know Shaggy has a scanner. I'm still digging out. What a storm! I had a 5 hour drive home from Angel Fire Ski Area area Friday night when the storm hit. I was wishing I was in my truck, but my brother talked us in to all piling in his Honda mini-van. Really the thing did great, just couldn't see the road. It was good to make it home. I have lived here since 1979 and never seen anything like this. My kids built a full size igloo and slept in it saturday night. That didn't even make a dent in the snow volume in my back yard.
rad1026 I know what you mean been looking for alb members here for a while.never did find any till now but have found many a usefull pages of mods and service tips. Man that drive took you damn near 3 times as long as it should have but at least you all made it safe. Ive been here all my life and never seen anything like this they say the last time we got thismuch snow it was back in 59.
Just wanted to let you all know I tryed to start my 99 f-350 this morning, it was 18 degrees and no block heater and fired right off. Hey shaggy, where did you say you got your exaust from. I was looking at the 4" on ebay, its a SS set up for about 4 bills.
I believe it was discount power parts if I remember right and its a mbrp 4''. I still would like to go stacks though no complaints with this system paid right aaround $400.
Post a pic of Albuquerque please someone / anyone!
