I have many times and it works great...

The only thing you need to remember is that it needs a slippery surface to work properly.. That means it would not work with the new Rhino and linex coatings, they are non skid.

It works best with a plastic bed liner..

I tried it once with a rubber bed mat and struggled to get the load out of the truck.

If you have the rhino or linex coating you could get a junk bedliner to throw in when you want to use it..

If that's the rollup thing I know a lady who has it in her Dodge pickup, uses it to unload manure at the recycle place. Says she can unload almost as fast as guys with a tilt bed.

how well do you think it would work with just the metal bed?

It works fine on the metal bed.. The only thing I can see is it may scratch the paint.. It is rough like a tarp is. Also if you add sand or stone then it will scratch.

The other thing about the load handler is that it gets the major portion off in one pass, but the tarp is just the size of the bed and sand, rocks, mulch does fall off the edge when emptying.

I use a broom to get the extra that has fallen off.

It is well worth the money if you just haul a few loads..

I would not recommend it for heavy everyday use.. In this case get a dump body..

It works great my only suggestion is to put a towel or something soft under the mounts on the tailgate because it did rub off my paint. Once load is going it is fine only had trouble when stuff gets behind wheel wells and at full capacity other than that I highly recommend it! I could only find it on the net, used to be sold in stores but must not be anymore.
