Isn't it funny how rust can be so damn weird. The other day while at my brothers mechanic shop, he pulled in a 78 Supercab to work on. The truck sounded horrible (like the engine was ready to fall out of the truck). All he needed to do was fix the brake lights. Anyway, I looked over the truck and, boy, it looked bad. Dents all over and rust. But the funny thing was, Rust engulfed the drivers side from the front fender all the way to the back. Also the passenger side was terrible, but to my amazement, the passenger side rear fender arch was immaculate. Usually, that is the first place to get rust. That was the only real good part on the truck. I just wonder, how did it stay to straight and clean? Then I talk to the next person who actually takes care of his truck and he has rust in both rear fender arches. Wierd......
rust never sleeps, it may seem theres none,but its there,just waiting for the best time to show its uglyness in an all out ATTACK!!!(sorry...i was getting a bit carried away,i hate rust.

My trucks cab is R U S T Y !!! And of course I'm fixing it becuase I'm a glutton for punishment But I'm noticing similar, unusual rusting. Like on the cab corners and seams I'm repairing/replacing the rust is bubling up from underneath, but only destroying one layer of sheet metal The sheet metal is cancering away along these seams, but the steel its welded too has nothing more than surface rust where they meet. Not that I'm complaining too much, at least its leaving me a solid peice to weld too
I'm almost positive that panel was not replaced. I have also seen in my 73 F100 where underneath everything is perfect except for one corner of the drivers cab mount starting to separate. The mount is great. Maybe these unusual things happen because of defective assembly.
