Typical gauges on a PSD would include a Pyro, Boost, and tranny temp if you have an auto. If you have a manual then a water temp or oil pressure. Have you done any mods to your truck? What type of driving do you do? Jeff
For some reason half of my post was cut off! Here is my full post. I have a F250, 6.0 Lariat, Fx4 with a 4” Donahoe lift and 35" tires. I have a 30' toyhauler that weighs in at about 12,000 lbs. I do at least one 600 mile trip a month usually up and down interstate 8 near San Diego. The grade in either direction is pretty tough. I have no mods except the ones previously mentioned! I would like to keep a beter eye on whats going on than I can with the provided gauges. I am considering a pre-turbo pyrometer, and a transmission temp gauge. I can have (3) three gauges. Which gauges do I need? Thanks for your help!
I would go with the Pyro absolutley, need this first on your list. I got the ISSpro with the green yellow red read outs, red is at 1250 degree's and that is where you want to stay away from. Boost and Trans temp gauge assuming that you have an auto. Will you be putting these gauges in an A pillar? I got my gauges from Deisel Manor, they have a real nice site with great instructions.
I felt that the boost gauge in the truck is good enough - I'd rather keep my eye on the oil TEMP while I'm towing than any of the other options. I have the Chamelion system by Stewart Warner. The LED are controlled by a small computer and you can change the background color with a control... or even let the colors continually change. Really looks cool. I have tranny temp, pyro and engine oil temp in an A-Piller pod. I believe I have pics in my gallery.
Here is the link for your gauges http://dieselmanor.com. And if you really want to wake up your 6.0 give Jody a shout at dp tuners you won't believe the extra horse power that guy can give you for towing. here is his link. http://www.dp-tuner.com
Yes, I will be putting the gauges in an "A" pillar (3) gauge pod. So far I think the boost gauge the truck comes with has been problem free, so I won't be looking to replace that or add another one.
The oil temp or the water temp would be my choice then. Are you you planning to do anything with the air intake and exhaust? opening these up will allow the PSD to breath better and will help to lower those egt's.
I would put an amp or volt meter in if yours is like my 02 and does not have a factory one. I have had 3 alternators fail an not know until it the batteries started getting low. Battery idiot light only came on once on the last one. by the time it came on my batteries were so low I couldn't start my pickup.
Yes, I am going to get the 4" exaust. As far as the amp or volt meter, I have the dual battery & alternator set up. With the redundency will I not know that one of the alternators failed until my batteries are dead?

Actually, the intake/air cleaner we have can not be made a whole lot better. Why spend that kind of $ just to jeopardise your warranty?
