Wix transmission/PS filter #58964

Ford filter alone #XC3P-7B155-BA
200 psi working, pressure relieved, magnetic
change yearly or 12000 miles
is the Wix a kit or just the filter? recommend buying the Ford kit?

The Wix # is just a filter. About $15-20 at a parts store that handles Wix filters. All I do is cut a few inches out of the cooler line per their directions then use a double flaring tool on the lines to put a slight bulge in the line to retain the hose. Practice on the piece you cut out. Then install the filter in the right flow direction with EFI fuel line hose and clamps.

The Ford Kit has fancy hose barb fittings to put on the lines, clamps, filter, hose, and a container for a flow test and to catch the drips. I have bought them off ebay for $6 each. I only use the clamps hose and filter tho, the fancy fittings are just another leak point...

BTW- The filter in the Ford kit is a Wix with a Ford label and part number at 2-3x the cost from the dealer.

Thanks....i take it the Wix is like an inline fuel filter? not a cannister (like an oil) filter?
