I'd suggest you ask this in the 6.0L section.

The 03 and 04 years seem to be the most problematic, get an OASIS report and check the vehicles repair history

Well said! I feel the same way just from knowing too many people w/ 6.0's that dread ever buying it. Buddy w/ 05 has had his engine pulled THREE times to fix leaks etc... It really is sad for Ford. The damage is going to take awhile to be healed. The 6.4 will tell.............................................. ...

Can't figure why you don't like them tho. I mean, aren't they keeping you in business? That is what a tech told me.

Although my 04 has been awesome, (one of the good ones hopefully) I wouldnt recemend anyone to buy anything but an 06 or newer, too much of a risk. Im actually finding my self looking for a super nice 01-03 7.3 I cant afford one of the typical 6.0 problems after the 100k warrenty is out...

Get it. They are the best motor out there to mod... If your going to run it and drive it there is nothing to be afraid of. There are very few 03's and 04's that have had "repeat" issues. What you have is a bunch of guys who read about a few people that had issues that come to a forum to vent.

We have 4 in our fleet, 03's and 04's and none of them have been in the shop for more then a day at a time and not one has had the cab off... Drive them and drive them hard and they will run forever...

Kris needs to chime in on this. "Very few" isnt true. Unless it is a regional thing, cuz one of my friends had 3 and cuz of them turned to dodge
