While installing my gauges, I noticed a "thing" in the engine compartment that I am not familiar with. It looks like a plastic lamp socket with some sort of wire or small wire bulb attached to the end of it. It's attached by tape, I think, to the back of the driver's side battery and the wires come out of a bundle that runs along the drivers side fender.
Do you have a cust airfilter installed. It kinda sounds like the air temp sensor that provides a signal to the PCM for fuel mixture, EBPV and that stuff. If the factory air box has been removed it is normally just left there in the open.
Could this little sensor being left out in the open be the reason why my EBPV closes forever in the mornings? Would it be worth it to drill a hole in my intake and mount it in there? It seems like last winter it only activated for a minute and now it'll activate for sometimes 15 minutes. Also does anyone know how to disconnect this EBPV?
There is a plug just beneath the turbo that has two wires going to it. I unplugged mine a few months ago and haven't had any problems. It will not through your CEL on. Might make your warm up time a little longer.
I unplugged my EBPV yesterday and today it got down around 5 degrees this morning and my truck started easier and didn't bog itself down with that EBPV. Thanks!
