First of all i want to say thanks to everyone, this fourm is awesome and everyone has been very helpful!
i have a quick one for you guys
i am helping a friend upgrade his exhaust on his late 99 (same as mine) but when i try to get the clamp off of the turbo (to the down pipe) it does not budge, i remember on mine i had no problem with it and once i loosened it it slid off, any one have any suggestions on this?
you could try wiggling the pipe from the bottom, tapping on a long screwdriver aimed at the pipe (tap not smack) and soak it down with PB blaster or Gibbs. You will be suprised with just tapping it, it will just pop free after a few minutes. Good luck.
I doubt it.
It will definitely be toasty if just driven, and hard on the hands for sure.
Just tap on it to persuade it to loosen up.
Be patient and all will be well.
I'm a firm believer in PB Blaster and Teflon lube also.
I was sold on PB blaster until I found Howells. TA truck stops sell it. They usually have a shelf with a bunch of other howells products- fuel additive, etc. It makes PB blaster seem like water- it worked really well on my downpipe.
