I won another obs powerstroke on ebay that didn't run you can see it if you search item number 140064466609. It didn't run but how could I pass it up at this price. After pulling it home along the blue ridge parkway, I looked at it this afternoon and noticed that it had a brand new high pressure oil pump on it and had a liquid gauge in the head for oil readings. I crawled under it and it had the original looking cps so I stole one out of another wrecked 97 I recently bought stuck it in and it fired right up. I lucked up, it ran a little rough at first but then ran and idled good. Have started it up a couple more times tonight but have to pump the pedal a little to get it to fire off.
Do you think it is just air in the lines or is there something else I should look for.
If I need to I can switch the 97 computer and obII port into this 95 and scan it but I would rather not.
Next is all fresh fluids and filters but have to go get tags and insurance before alot of driving.
The truck needs a paint job but is real solid and tight. Needs a new steering column but I think the one out of my wrecked 97 will work.
I feel kind of bad because the guy I bought it from said he had worked on it on and off the last three months trying to get it running and all he had to do is log on here and get a 50 dollar sensor.
Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
I think that pumping the pedal isn't what makes the truck start. If you have air in the oil rails it probably takes a few seconds to build the 500 psi that needs to be sensed by the ICP before it fires the injectors, or the ICP my be starting to go bad. You got a good deal though.
