can you unplug the crazy thing?I test pulled my 34' 5th wheel this afternoon and the truck serged so bad the turbo gauge was pulsing as the truck was serging. It was real bad under excelleration.FROM EVERTHING I've read this sensor has to be the problem. 05 PSD CC AUTO 4X4
you can unplug it but it wont be pretty. have you taken it to a dealer? do you have any smoke when it is surging? i am not saying that it is not the ebp sensor but unpluging it wont fix anything.
I agree with bowtie, unless you have a strange shorting issue, unplugging it probably wont help. A dealership trip would definately be a good idea. You need to get into the data stream to get a starting point for diagnostics. I would be leaning toward a wiring, pcm, or corrupt sensor issue somewhere. Without proper diagnostics, you're spinning your wheels.
My local ford dealer is a joke, they have trouble fixing a flat much less a PSD.I'm looking for a dealer in memphis that will do the job right.I'M tired of spending 100 bucks for nothing.
I was told you could help me with this serging problem.Let me try to explain,,,,The serging is not bad after the first 5or6 miles,[truck only]but is a little noticible.During this time the truck smokes pretty bad at a stop. Then after the warm up time no more smoke. What really got my attention was yester day I pulled my trailer on a test pull a the serging was terrible all the time especially under excelleration.BUT no smoke.IT seamed to have alot of power and no unusual noises, just serging or pulsing. The turbo gauge was moving with the serge.
My truck did the same thing. It was the EGR. I just unpluged it till i could get the truck to the dealer to get it replaced. Make sure you shut the truck off and then unplug the EGR and then start it and drive it and see if the serging problem goes away.
i wont tell you it is a egr unless i have the truck in my hands. a competant dealer can do the same as i can you just have to find them. all you will have to pay for is the deductible because the egr valve is 5/100000 warranty.
now knowing what i know with your truck blkfx405, leave your egr plugged up. that might be why your dealer is having issues trying to diag your truck. it still could be the egr, but disconnect your batteries and hook your egr back up.
