I just dropped the truck off at the 3rd different dealership and i feel good about this one.The service writter seemed to be very experienced with the problems that i discribedto him.I plugged the egr in,then disconnected both batteries before i left the house.Another good thing happened the truck was smoking when they taged it and drove it to back.Every other time it didn't.
The service writter called me with some bad news. The turbo vains are in bad shape caused by the breather [stock] assembly being altered .The breather had a gap behind the element, letting dirt or debree into the turbo and has caused all the damage to the turbo. No dought ford will not warranty this because the problem could have been prevented.I'ts not a defective issue. So I went to the GM dealer were i bought the truck and had a long talk with the manager of the used car department.I put the service writter from the ford shop on the phone with the GM manager and they are talking about what has to be done and how much it;s gonna cost.Ibought the truck 12/02 06,before I took delevery I had sereral issues i wanted fixed. They sent it to Crossroads Ford to address do all the repairs. The ford mechanic must have missed this problem, but did put a injecter on #7 cylender and a egr cooler.ME being stupid I took the truck on good faith, although it was still smoking and serging. My thinking was it would probably take a few miles to settle in.SO the sagga goes on.TOMMORROW I should find out what the next step will be.Kinda sounds like a soap opra.
Glad to hear you are starting to get the whole picture instead of the runaround. Also thank you for listening, this seems to be a very uncommon for people who have issues with their trucks and post here lately. It can get fustrating sometimes, I know, I was in your shoes 3 years ago. The info here was great at that time for not having many techs participating in discussions then (they were too busy trying to fix them, and did not want to get beat up here) but nowhere near what it is now with the ammount of "tech support" that we now have. A public thanks to all the Techs for putting in a regular day in the salt mines and then comming in here and dealing with us idiots.
All the parts came in today so they should have me running monday after noon. The only thing that worries me is they keep telling me that this may not fix the smoking problem because the cat is gone.I all but begged the teck to try the FTE website for hands on info from the tecks that answer most of the hard questons. But I guess pride gets in the way sometimes? All I can do is pray for the best!
I agree, the reason FTE came up in our conversation is he stated to me that he had been looking on the internet sites that address aftermarket exhaust systems and what simptons they could cause.
