EFI fuel pump

Guys,
I need some input on different fuel pump ideas. I'm putting a 91 5.0 HO motor from a Mark VII LSC into my 54 F100. I'm keeping the stock tank whick is in good shape and has a new sending unit from when I upgraded to 12V. I would like to go with 2 pumps in line, high volume low presure and low volume high pressure, on the frame rail. Anyone out there done this. I could use a 83-84 T-bird Tcoup for the high pressure pump. Is there a better idea? Maybe an Easier idea? Anything special about the return line to the tank? What Not to do!! Thanks in advance for all the help.
Mike

In line pump

I mounted one rail mounted, inline pump, with enough pressure rating (don't remember rating psi but could look) just rear of cab, passenger side, then ran feeder and return lines from tank to fuel rail (after market Mustang tank between rails). I've only ran engine so far using gas can with rubber lines connected to fuel lines. Engine runs fine. I'll solder return line into feeder neck on tank. Running '90 EFI 5.0 L Crown Vic; modified supply lines with fittings to thread to my new fuel lines. The only issue I have is the tank I ordered has three openings; one on driver side for sender, two on top centre ? the forward one will be through bed filler, I'll close up the rear one originally used for through trunk filer neck on Mustangs.

Mike,

Now I am running a 77-82 Chevy van tank but on my truck My friend used a 90 Ford Ranger Frame mounted pump. Not that pump may not flow enough for an HO motor. My engine is a 88 Speed Density out of a CVic. Hope this helps

I am using a frame mounted pump from an F-150 of about 1988 vintage, similar to the one shown above. It kept up with the needs of my 331 stroker running 24# injectors and a Powerdyne Supercharger. Keep the pump as close to the tank as possible and as low as possible in relation to the fuel tank outlet. The F-series pump may be similar to the Ranger pump, but I have never checked part numbers. I have driven this setup for over 40,000 miles with no problems. I also installed the same setup on my '49 Merc with 5.0 HO about 7 years ago, and no trouble with it either.
