Does anyone sell a drop front axle???? What about the rear??? It has leafspring suspension all the way around. Can I move the leafsprings from the top of the axles to the bottom safely?? Please help, never dealt with leafsprings all the way around before.
I don't see them in any of the current catalogs. I bought mine for my '59 many years ago. It was bent from a stock axle at a place in Oakland or Richmond, CA. Good luck.

You can buy a dropped front axle with 2 1/2", 3" or 4" drop for somewhere between $225 and $325. http://www.midfifty.com has them as do several other parts places that specialize in old or modification parts for out vehicles. My 56 had a 4" drop when I got it, but now has a coil spring front suspension.
Being taught by guys from the old school, I would definately try put my axles on top of the leaf springs first.
The rear should just be a matter of getting new U-bolts made. You may also have to fabricate a little bracket to keep the axle centered on the springs. I'm sure if you look around, you could find a tech article with pics.
Try the front, keeping an eye on your linkages and other clearances. The axle is square as well, so you will have to look at how you want to remount it.
Remember, hotrodding is all about making things work. Today you can call up Mac's or Bob's and order anything you could ever need. In the 50's, you made do with what you had & could afford.
Good luck with your project,

There's a posting in the 1947 & Older Trucks "Early Ford Front End", a reply posted by "alittle40" has a link to a cool web site where the guy goes step by step on restoring his truck, including modifying his rear springs.
It's an older truck so I'm sure more had to be modified than on yours(had 1 leaf going across the back like our 1941 had), but thought you might want to check it out.
