am yanking out the 390 an am putting in a 460 powerplant. need help determining whether its best to use an engine cross member or engine frame mounts. have been using a crossmember for the 390. i am looking for low cost, and know that the cross members are more expensive because u have to buy the motor mounts seperate. anyone with a good source for purchasing either?
also, is the added weight of a 460 that much more than a 390 that its gonna cause the stock front suspension of the '56 to handle any differently? the engine will be hooked up to a c6 tranny which is what the 390 had behind it as well.
Try Classic Performance Products (800) 522-5004 for a 460 cross-member and pads. These guys sell motor mount kits to all the other classic truck parts houses.
