Thanks for the input. The 350 heads he has have a broken or bent valve in them. The 305 is complete, and he just wants to swap out the TBI and install the Performer and 4bbl from the 350. It is a budget (cheap) build as he just wants to get the truck up and running as soon as possible.

If thats all wrong with the 350 heads it shouldn't cost too much to get them rebuilt to go on the 305 he might like it better
I agree with both answers, and I tried to talk him into putting the money in the 350 before he even bought the 305, but he wanted the 305 because it came with a 5sp man trans, headers, T-tops, a new radiator the computer, and wiring harness all for $700. With that same amount, he could have rebuilt the heads, and had the 350 running. Even if he needed to buy a carb (the one on the 350 is junk) he still would have money left over.
