Thought I'd post this over here in addition to the electrical forum to see if my Super Duty cronies can give me a hand.
I definitely realize that I am for not knowing this but here is my dilemma.
I've got a `99 7.3L PSD, dually and my driver's side marker light (the one that is on the flared rear fender is out. Yup, you guessed it, I dont' know how to replace it .
The problem is that I've had the truck for a year and this hasn't come up before. Therefore, I'm not sure how to do it.
Can someone steer me in the correct direction as to how to remove the yellow lens cover so that I can get to the bulb?
You actually access it from underneath. If you've replaced the license plates lights before, it's very similar. The yellow or red lens stays fixed in the fender. You pull back the plastic fender liner a bit, then reach in and grasp the bulb/socket by its base, give it a twist in one direction, which releases it... then pull it out, replace the bulb, reinsert, and twist to lock in place.
Atta Boy Ryan..How's it going in Cali? Gettin our butts kicked by the snow here..They say there's another big one coming!! Been fun but this could get really dangerous!!
I really appreciate the info. I went to swap the bulb and found out that the housing itself had cracked in half.
The harness is plugged into the back of a piece that broke off the lens housing. The lens must've fallen off recently while driving because it's no longer there.
Anyone know where I can buy a rear marker light housing? I don't even know where to look.
