I have the engine driven fan on my 55 F-100 which works fine but if I set in traffic w/ac on it will overheat, i recently put an electric fan on the front to aid the pully fan; when both are running the engine temperature rises. Can/do both fans work in conjunction with each other and be effective.

You can run them both together but it is a waste of horsepower, if you ask me. The electric fan should be plenty to cool it. By removing the engine driven fan, you pick up horsepower because of the lack of drag by the fanblades.
