Large truck Y Blocks

My 2nd post as a newbie, glad this site exists.
My 54 F-350 has the original 53k mile 239/4spd and 5.14 rear; runs nice but a bit underpowered to say the least.
Found a few of long indoor storage 50's era large series engines which appear to be Y's but I'm not familiar with them. A few even have Lincoln valve covers. How do you ID these?
Will they bolt into the F-350 and more important will they mate to the 4spd tranny? My p/u has a tranny power take-off for the dump lift and I dont want to get into lots of fabrication if I can help it. Just want a bit more oomph without going to an FE or 429/460. I'll be happy at 55mph with a ton of stuff in the bed. Trying to find a 292/312 is harder than finding a good flathead block around here.
