4x4

I have a 1985 F150 Extended cab 8 foot bed with a carborauted 351 W. It is two wheel drive. I can get my hands on a 1993 or so F150 4x4 for real cheap. I was wondering if I could put my body from the 85 on the 4x4 frame from the 93 truck. Also, will the 4x4 work with the carborated 351??? The 93 F150 has a 5.0 I believe.

If you go Carbureted you will have to dump the Computer controlled devices.

Fuel delivery will be the biggest difference.

EFI requires 40 psi

Carburetion requires 7-9 psi

Oil pressure actuator switch with fuel pressure regulator is required

I dont want to keep the engine from the fuel injected truck. All I want is the trans and the transfer case. I want to mount the carborauted engine to the 4x4 trans and transfer case. I am going to get rid of the fuel injected engine. I am going to pull everything off of the 4x4 frame including the engine and just leave the trans and transfer case and the frame. I want to then put the carborauted engine in and put all of my body parts on the 4x4 frame. So baisically my question is can the 4x4 trans and transfer case match up and work with the carborauted 351??

if the 4x has a 302 your 351w will bolt to the trans.

Sorry, I thought one was EFI (The 93) and you were putting the Carbureted engine in this truck.

Yes the 302 and the 351W share the same trans bolt pattern
