Anyone know the colors of the wires for the brake/tail lights and turn signals on the 2005 SD? I want to hard wire a line of fire strip to the truck instead of using the trailer plug. Thanks. Joe
just use a test light. there are only 3 wires. put the turn signal on and check for power. its the same wire for the signals as it is for the brake lights.
According to TSB 06-14-12 by Ford, They state that if adding additional blubs to turn signals or hazard flashers, an isolation relay must be used. This TSB applies to 1999 thru 2007 F-series Super Duty, 2000-2005 Excursion, 2000-2007 F-650/750. Supersedes 04-18-15.
I receive Powerstroke Registry magazine and that information came from that magazine for the winter issue of 2007. Hope this helps you with the project. Just find the right wire and hook it to the isolation relay. Tie the new lights to the relay.
