Grille Questions!

I have a 71 f-100, and I love the look of the 68 all-metal grille. I was wondering if the bolt pattern would be the same, and how hard it would be to get my hands on one. Anyone know?

I've got a steel grill in my '71, pretty much a bolt in deal. Take a look in my gallery. I took it off a roll over parts truck I bought for $100.!!!!

1967, 1968 and 1969 Grille's were slightly different in appearance, but the mountings are the same and all will bolt up to a 1970-72.

There is a very slight difference in the valence panel behind the bumper. The parking lights on the 67-69 attach to the grille and headlight doors. On the 70-72 they mount on the valence panel.

The drop clearance on the valance for 70-72 is wider, just looks wrong installed on a 67-69 grill. Used clean auminum grills are to find, if found big money, think about a steel grill and have it and the headlight doors power coated silver?
It would have that soft alumimun look but stronger and cheaper.

Good luck with that project, Dave. It looks nice. And i like the idea if the steel grille powder coated, Beemer. i actually found one of the all metal grilles on ebay for about 5 bucks, but it didnt have the headlight shrouds. =/ It was from like, panama.

these trucks go everywhere, man.

Thanks for the compliment, might actually start the paint process on it this weekend... I've had the truck for 15 years now and never had it done so I suppose I should maybe get it done this winter, huh?

Thumbs up 67-69 grille in 70-72

The steel 67-69 grill looks fine with the 70-72 lower valence , the chrome panel on underside of 70-72 should be removed though.
You should check out the "NOS" grille in the classified section. For only 2500 you could get a chrome grille. I think the guy is actually serious!
