hello all, i love ford trucks ,but i'm a mopar guy. I bought a ford truck to work and haul my duster. my truck needs a resto and drivetrain overhaul. It is a 1980 f250 4x4 reg cab auto with a 351m. It needs fenders and a tailgate, then some minor bodywork oops forgot cab corners, and a repaint. It is red right now but will end up black with a white two tone running through the middle of the sides. I will leave the red interior because it is there and merely needs cleaning and a dash pad I love steel stock wheels painted body color in this case they will be black. But it has a set of american turbines that are pretty crusty. I will clean and paint them just to see how they would look. pretty sure it will get some stock steelies painted black with some bfg's in a reasonable size, 235/85/16's. This truck will be worked, and abused, building projects, firewood, car parts you know the routine. I just want a work truck capable of attacking any situation with total confidence, pull someone out, no problem, haul that truckload of parts out of that muddy salvage yard, or pick my sweet little daughter at preschool. If you guys have suggestions as to mods that will meet these goals and ideas to make my truck unstoppable but not unreasonable or overkill, I am all ears. Give me your ideas. If anybody knows why a c6 trans would get stuck in reverse after sitting for long times, i sure could use some help. You can put the t-case in nuetral start her then engage the t-case and she runs like a raped ape in reverse, but nothing else. HELP!!!!!!!!!! Thanks guys looking forward to deleoping some friendships.
Understand about the mopar thing but I think you will like the support you get here for your Ford truck. You will need to ask the questions in the tech forums since this one is used for introductions. Click on the Forums tab at the upper left and browse over the boards. You can find your year and type of truck, another one for the transmission, another for towing, you get the idea.
