Which is the reason I have an SC - besides I wanted the shortest, lightest 4x4 with enough room.

The only thing that an 8 foot bed ever got me (with my '74 highboy) was the ability to close the tailgate with 8 foot lumber/plywood/whatever.

And I find with the short bed, all I have to do is open the tailgate and have just as much room. I just HAVE to strap everything down - which is always a good idea (cargo shifting is NOT a GOOD THING).

I'd love to have a shortbed regular cab SD. Impractical for family, but definitely FUN off-road and even on-road

If it was just me, a reg cab would be perfect. I looked at a few super cabs, just not enough room for the family (8yo,3yo and one due in March). I would have prefered a CC SB, but this truck came about at the right time. I drove 3 CC LB's and 4 CC SB's before I bought the truck I have now. Personally, can't really tell the difference, though I suspect I'm just used to a long truck now.

Reg cab SB with a diesel would be quite nose heavy. Probably be a lot of fun on the street if you could get it to hook up and go straight.

You see a bunch of them around here.

How is shortening the wheelbase making the truck anymore nose heavy? If anything it is enhancing the traction to the rear tires (but at the expense of LWB stability). As to how many people would actually buy them, that might be small, but it would make a great limited production truck. Imagine a F250 Lightening with a 500hp V10 or diesel.

I have to say, going from my 99 CC to either my 66 or my 77, both reg cabs, I run out of room for all the --it! Last year hunting I had my 99 CC (Cali) sold her this year, took my 66 once and my 77 twice, WOW, I got used to that extra space, and when it was really cold or rainy, I was able to climb in the back seat and sleep! (it is handy being 5'9") but, as always, improvise, overcome and adapt, I used a pop-up and just put it over the bed of my truck, I just looked like the Bev Hillbillys heading up the mtns. I have to say I would probably buy one though!! I will be looking at the new 08's soon though,,,

Exactly! Short wheelbase, same equipment, means more weight on the rear tires.

I've plowed with crew-cab long beds for years with no problem. Yea sometimes you do a little back & forth, but I don't mind I couldn't imagine owning a shorter truck.

I personally don't have a use for any short box truck. I need the long bed and The SC long bed is too long, let alone the CC long bed. Personally, the RC long bed is the best looking of them all, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I like the stance of an F-350 better due to the 4" blocks in the rear.

Already had to replace my rear springs. $650 for both sides to be done. Ouch.

Exactly! They don't offer them. I was just wondering how many people would utilize one.
