Merry Christmas to you too...Our gift exchanges were over on Saturday as the stepsons were in town and had to leave before today and the family dinner on my side of the family was last Sunday. My Mom and Dad started that tradition some years back so my brothers, sisters, and myself couls celebrate Christmas with our immediate families on Christmas day.

My side of the family, I'm one of six children, no longer exchange gifts. Instead, we adopt one family from the 100 neediest families list that the St. Louis Post Dispatch prints. Saturday we delivered living room furniture, a table and chairs, a bed and new mattresses, pots and pans, groceries and cleaning supplies, and lots of presents for the kids. Three pickup trucks full of stuff.

I hope all of you have a very joyous holiday season. All of us need to remember the voyage that we have all taken to get to this point in our lives. There have been rough spots and smooth sailing along the way. Each incident has become ingrained into our minds one way or another. They have all helped us grow. Look at the inevitable turnaround that has taken place. Parents protecting us from the "boogie man", now we are there to save our children (and for the more experienced, grandchildren). Taking care of elder parents that for many years fed and clothed us. Needless to say, regardless of how your journey has gone, I hope it will be a long, smooth one, still to come.

I made Christmas Eve dinner last night. 5 pound beef tenderloin with a really great spice rub, Homemade "Loaded" Mashed Potatoes (Sour Cream, Bacon, Green Onions, Cheddar), Homemade Beef Stuffing, Green Bean Caserole and Pumpkin-Pecan Pie. The wife made some fresh cranberry, apple, orange dressing to go also. Boy was it good!!

No Scott, no cookies! lol

OK, the family has been up now, they've opened their gifts and they were all very pleased with them... I can breathe easier now, lol... that and I FINALLY got a call from my dad in Hong Kong! He is over there on a mission trip. We're off now to take the van over. I'm still apprehensive about giving this thing away with all the grief it has given me, but I think I've got everything fixed.
I hope my earlier post was taken in the jest that was meant. My wife says I need to watch the edge on my sarcasm sometimes lol..
You all are the greatest friends I have had in a long time, and I would be proud to be counted amongst your friends; MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
