Does anyone know what this could mean? The truck has been serviced regularly and there are no apparent problems. Thanks
You need to get the code(s) read and post them here so we can help you.
Autozone or some of the larger Auto Parts Chain will read the codes for you free of charge.

Do you have an owner's manual? That should be your first resource.
The "Service Engine" light is a simple indicator turned on by the computer when the computer has determined that there is a fault in the emissions control systems or the engine's computer control function that needs to be checked or repaired.
Unless the light is flashing, there is usually no urgency in getting it addressed unless it is also accompanied by drivability or fuel economy problems. In these cases, the fault should be corrected ASAP. If the light is flashing, there is a sever misfire and a significant risk of catalytic converter damage if the vehicle is operated too long.
Get it read and research the codes by SEARCHing for them for previous discussions. There are several that are so common that should be pinned at the top of the forum but aren't.
DO NOT LET THE MONKEY AT THE PARTS STORE DIAGNOSE THE FAULT. If they knew how to do that, they wouldn't be working at an auto parts store for 8 or 9 bucks an hour.
I'm not sure what the weather is like in your part of Texas, but this time of year is good for exposing a thermostat that is stuck open. If your t-stat is stuck open during cold weather, you'll get an 'Insufficient Temperature' code which will not affect the way the truck drives. You will still get some heat from the vents, but not as hot as usual.
Let's just get the codes read. It's pretty pointless to bring up any of the hundreds of possibilities when we don't have ANY indication of where to look.
I would simply speculate that it's an emissions control problem since no drivability issues were reported.
The trouble code is P0153. This one pertains to the oxygen sensor 1. It reads tht the response time for sensor 1 in bank 2 is too slow. The Autozone print out states that the oxygen sensor is closest to the cylinder head, before the catalytic converter.
I know where bank 2 is. Not sure where exactly where this part is located. Can anyone steer me in the right direction? Thanks.
