53 motor ID ? HELP !

53 motor ID ? HELP !
Hello ,
I have a 53 f100 and thought i had an original motor.
vin - f10d3c11731
data plate;
3std 992 ss 25-c cs 635
dso 5019
I should have a 215 6cyl but somting is not right.
My fuel pump is behind the distributor ,oil filter twoards front under distrbutor and the oil filler/breather to the front.
I think i have a 223.
How do i tell?where do i look for #s on the engine.
My build date is late july 1953 could it be a 54 motor or were changes made to the 215 from the 53 ford shop manual i have.
A "MOTORS" shop manual(1960) i have shows the config i have for the 53 ohv6.
