Guys I am at a pivotal time right now on my truck where I am thinking about ordering a few performance parts for my truck such as a 35-255-5 cam and maybe some roller rockers such as the 1.7's? How much more hp and torque will I gain by going to just a better cam such as the Comp SD cam? How much hp would I gain by adding both the rockers and cam together?
that cam is the 351w version. you want 31-255-5 i believe is the number. I would go with the cam and spend the rocker money on headers and bassani y pipe. I dont believe the rockers would give you much at this point
I'm going to use the 35-255-5, its recommended by a lot of guys on the board. You can change your plug wires and the computer won't care about the firing order since it is "bank fire". I'm staying with the 1.6 and converting to adjustable non-rail rockers with the Crane retrofit kit 35566-16 which includes screw in studs with guide plates. You can use stock pedestal (non-adjustable) rockers with that cam from what I've been told, but my rockers were worn anyway, and my machinist recommended converting to adjustable anyway to get the correct preload.
