Gusso,Thanks for the kind comments. I ordered my dash ext. from mid-fifty, no modifications necessary except to put your own holes in for mounting acc. I used self drilling aluminum screws to mount it directly to bottom of original dash.
I was a little apprehensive about the outboard corners extending into the door openings at first, but now it seems natural to me and causes no problems.
Wayne - mid-fifty sells a fiberglass and a metal dash extension. I assume yours is metal. Once again, without getting slobberly [word?] thanks for your input and it`s a beautiful, beautiful `56.
Anything else I should know relative to dash extension or installation?
Gusso
It is the metal one part# 7533. Are you keeping your glove box? I didn,t because I wanted to smooth my dash, and A/C unit took up most of the room anyway. If your keeping a glove box you would probably want to consider one of the other models that are made to accommodate it. I can,t help with those as I am unfamiliar with them.

Wayne - Hi again. I`ve got to keep my glove box. Got a great updated fusebox box in there. Do I understand you correctly- the extension you have will not work or fit when you keep the glove box?
