96 Explorer 5.0 Alternator
Have a 96 Explorer v-8 that shows low on the amg gauge. Battery light comes on intermittenly. Just replaced battery. Not sure if the alternator has the internal regulator or not. Any tips on installing a new one? Thanks.

Check your cables at the connections(both ends) and with engine running, check the voltage across the battery terminals with a voltmeter. Should be about 14.5 v. Could go one step further and do same test with several accessories turned on. Headlights, heater blower, etc. It's not too hard to change alt. You could take it somewhere for a free alt check like at Auto Zone.
