Need some info
I just bought a 1996 explorer with 95,000 miles on it and was wondering if anyone can help me on this. I looked up the recalls on this, and wanted to know if you can tell me if they include mine or not. I found 5 recalls. Here is the vin number if you need it email me the answer if you want to i need to know. #( 1FMDU34X6TUD15828. I also have a another problem with it and that is when it is cold i have a hard time getting it to shift into 3 or 4 it is a automatic trans over drive motor is 4.0 V6. I live two miles from the highway on a blacktop road and i let it warm up at least 5 minutes before i even drive it and it still does it i changed trans oil in it last week i have had this car a month now. It take's about halve way out to the highway before it even shifts then it takes another halve a mile before it shift into overdrive. The trans doesn't slip any at all. The oil i drained out of it was not burnt or even discolored. I was a mechanic for 25 years before the stress got to me and i quit. I just can't figure this on out. I put mobile one pure syst. in it thats all i use in my cars. ( Mercon 5 ) is there anything i can do or have done before i cook this trans because of the shifting probblem????? ( Mike )
