My futher have just purchaise '01 and there is no radio inside. Well, I've got Ford 6006 Radio at the wrecked yard, but nobody knows connector pin assigment. There is no connector inside the Ranger, may be it was stolen. Well, does anybody know how to connect it?
ok, well you're gonna have to go old school but it's still possible.
First get yourself a multi tester and the free wiring harness in the area of the radio. Test the pins for a 12v source. This is your constant on. Then go through again flicking the ingition switch to find a 12v switched. Once you have found these two you're ready to test speakers.
Get a 9v battery and hook it to the remaining leads until you hear one of the speakers thump. When you hear one have a buddy watch the cone to see whether it comes out towards you or back into the housing when you hook up the leads, this may take several thumps. This will give you all the speakers and the power, as for what the radio needs, I have no idea.
This is done now.... But there is a problem, typical for Europe. This radio tunes to frequinces with 0.2 MHz step. For example, the most popular radio in Lugansk are 104.8, 100.4, 90.8, 104.0.... That is the problem.
If you have the owners manual there should be a procedure for resetting the frequency steps on the radio. Otherwise you're going to have to search for it online somewhere.
Is there a ford dealership you could call?
As I recall it was just a matter of specific buttons to hold down for a certain amount of time.
I just did a quick search and didn't find what you need so maybe the dealer might be the only option without the manual. It's possible that manuals from other cars might still show how to change the frequency steps.
Wish I could be of more help...
EDIT: wow, I just noticed this thread is a year old instead of last month. Oh well...
