Good news for California drivers: New law bans hand held cell phones.
Bad news for California drivers: Law doesn't take effect till 2008.
All these laws at first sound great, but rarely seem to be enforced, at least here where I live. For instance, tailgating and speeding are at an epidemic level yet I never read of any tickets issued for it.
Back to the plates! I've seen a great many rear plates with those plastic covers on em and one can't even begin to read the plate # let alone see if the sticker is valid. Be tough to get a tag # if ya can't see it!
Sorry...state highway 75, starts in Dallas and goes into Oklahoma, not too sure after that.
We all call it I-75 around here my fault. It's "technical name" is Central Expressway / US 75.
SR 75 if I'm not mistaken is the highway that turns into I-45? Dallas to Houston & goes by Love Field, Did they finally get the road construction done?

At one time those clear lens covers were illegal in CA...and i believe they still are...but no one then and no one now enforces that law. besides the PD's have far more issues today.
But idiots talking on cell phones is far more dangerous. Recently some SUV driver here (SoCA) dropped his phone, reached over to pick it up. He then ran up over a curb, and killed a youngster sitting on a bus bench.
In Pasadena, CA...the city has red light cameras...and do issue tickets if anyone is caught by the camera. Now someone has invented a spray that when applied, blocks out the plates so cameras can't read them.
I actually have a hard time believing anyone could write down or remember the license plate at all. Unless you were tailgating this person, pulling them over for a traffic infraction, or rubbernecking.
So unless you were a copper pulling them over, you were being an idiot too! I sure can't read a license plate at 4 car lengths.
Sure you can. I carry binoculars with me. Handy for seeing them plates stopped at the next convenient intersection.

Yep that's the one.
I'm not too sure...on my trip to Austin I went from 75 - 30 - 35. 75 is clear of construction for the most part (FINALLY!), 30 is a disaster but no construction (badly needs it) and 35 was smooth sailing from Dallas to Austin.
hell we have plenty of idiot driver here in The Memphis area so its not a big surprise to me if a baddrivers website hadnt already existed i take my driving frustrations out on Burnout takedown 3 on THE XBOX AFTER DRIVING ALL DAY W/ IDIOTS
