installed the propane injection on my truck 1 question , will the propane have any kind of adverse effect on the turbo or my new ATS housing. this stuff is introduced into the intake tube just before the turbo. also will my computer need any reprogramming to run this stuff. I have a friend at yates-rousch that reprogramed the computer for performance, he was kind of concerned about the power output
WOW, al.. I always thought they did it for CASH!!!
Ya think ya know some people!!!
The only forseeable problem I can think of is if the turbo bearing starts to go, could mean fireworks, lol....but at that point in time, it may not be the first thing on your mind.
Also with the propane on board you are not allowed in the tunnels anymore...
may i ask, why propane,,,,,,,just wondering, for towing or racing,
ive read nothing but bad, bad stuff about it. even a big article in last months diesel power mag tested the bully dog propane injection and what i got out of the article is its just not worth it,,,,,,,,,,,egts exceed 1400 easily and combustion preassure
can be too much for the stock head studs to take. just FYI, i hate to see the worst when expecting the best.........ya know.
was going to buy a horizontal tank but damn 700.00$I guess I'll have to save my pennys. oh yeah tunnels are not a problem here in the NC piedmont just the mountains.

I've run a lot of miles on propane, I don't think there will be any adverse effects for your turbo, from what I 've read, if you have adverse effects, they occur lower in your engine. It's also a good idea to make sure the propane doesn't get turned on when there is any chance your glow plugs might still be energized.
The stock tune is ok with propane, but don't run any tunes with much timing advance. You will get the most out of propane if you get a tune specifically for it.
