Got to the shop at 7:00 am. At noon found out 6.0 diesel had to be done first thing next morning. Just finished and now I'm WAAAYYY too tired to drive home, so I'll just check the boards until 7 again, maybe sleep in my truck for awhile.... Anyone else stupid/crazy enough to be up at this hour and not having fun doing it? I'm getting tired of letting my boss talk me into "working late..."
I worked 3 continuous time shifts in a row. This means end shift to start shift was less than 7hrs. Holiday season at the airport. I was driving home. 60 mile drive. Tractor trailer was backing into a 7 eleven. While he was making his turn. His headlights were pointing in my direction. As he began to straighten out. I then realized he was blocking the entire road. I had no time to stop so I aimed for his tractor tire. Another foot or so and I would have went under the trailer. Don't think I would be here now if I didn't hit his tire. Fractured my sternum. My heart swelled up and almost did not make it.
The reason I am writing this is. If I was more awake. I most likely would have been able to avoid what happened. Everyone be careful and use your common sense. When working long hours. It's not worth the extra money if you are not here to spend it.
to answer your question,i am awake every night at the time you posted that, well 6 nights out of seven most weeks anyhow.12 hour days 6 days a week here lately. one thing about it,you don't have to worry about what time of day to be at work or leave work. start at 7 p.m.,work till 7 a.m,so when 7 o'clock rolls around,I need to be going or leaving work
