First off I have to say that PMS is finally starting to sink in. I was able to avoid it for awhile but now its got ahold on me. The stacks are in the mail, now Im getting ready to order the Wicked wheel and Jody's F5 chip.
My main question is what tunes I should go with. I was thinking
Stock, 60tow, 80economy . . . I would like the smoke tune and then one of the higher hp tunes. Whats the main difference between the 140aggresive and the 140extreme and is there that big of a difference between those and the 120hp? Is the 140hp going to granade my truck, being mostly stock? Any help would be great, Thanks.
well, i have stock, high idle, 40, 60, 80, 120, 140a (smoke) and lope. I would go with 60, 80 econo, 120 and 140extreme. When you bump through the positions you can tell a definite difference between the 80 and the 120, and the 140. Especially the smoke output between 120 and 140. The 120 lets out a hefty cloud, but the 140 is just unbelievable. There is constant smoke all the time you are on the throttle. Sure before the turbo spools it is very thick, but once it spools, it still is present and you defanitely see it. Since you are getting stacks, smoke tune is a must. The lope is cool too.
So whats the difference between the 140 aggresive and the 140 extreme? And should I worry about them damaging my truck in anyway? I know it puts alot of stress on the trans but as long as Im not constintly running full throttle in 140, I should be okay, right?
Well im not sure on that. I do know that Diane said that the 140 Agressive has some extra fueling for some reason. I just noticed that i said 140 extreme in my last post. I meant to say "agressive" because i have no experience with the extreme. I do go easy on the tranny when i am in those settings. I am usually in drive, but sometimes not, but ALWAYS with the TC locked before i get on it. I tried it once with it unlocked and it slipped and shuddered like a three legged retarded dog on ice.
EDIT- Lope, i have to get some footage of it after christmas, it is basically a tune that makes the engine sound like it has a fat cam at idle. It gets alot better once you put it in gear and hold the brake. brap brap brap brap brap..
Not necessarily. Talk to Jody about it. May want to get a BTS VB to go with it. The TC lock can be done with few$$ and some simple wiring prowess from what I hear.
I got the 60tow, 80econ and lope idle which is attatched to the 120 tune. When I got it put back in, the wifie came out and thought the neihborhood kids had put sugar in my tank.....was fixing to call the cops again since they had just egged the drivers side, she figured they had messed with something else. It is radical for sure. Hey Kris, you were talking about shuddering....I was going down the interstate the other morning and I got a short burst of shudder about 60-70 and I switched out of lope to 80econ and it went away. I have been reluctant to run in the 120 any more just cause I didn't know what hit me. I also have the ghost locking and unlocking my doors and flashing my parking lights going up the road.....Jody said to move the ribbon cable around that it might be interfering with the alarm or security system but nothing has helped....any more suggestions????

Man Dave, have you spoken with Jody again? Moving the cable around doesn't cut it in my book. You may need to ride up there and demand a fix.
BTW, what is up with the punks in the neighborhood? That would only last a few nights for me and I would stake it out.

Moving the cable is a temperary fix or it may not fix it all. The new shielded cables we are having made will fix this issue. All of the past cables will be replaced and are being made right now and we will ship it to you as as we get them. Looks like the middle of January before our manufacture will have them done.

Thanks Diane I appreciate that and I was just fixing to post that here. I appreiciate the help yall have givenn me and I am sure that will do the trick. I was just looking to see if anyone else had seen this before....looks like I may be the only one. Thanks again and Merry Christmas from South Carolina.
You are not the first one or only one with this issue. It is not like this with all who have the F5. Only some. It can be a completely stock truck or one with major electonics installed. The new cable proved to fix the interferrance issue the few called about. Everyone who has the F5 will get the new cable to replace the ribbon cable we have now.

So Diane, with my F5 i've had for a week, it has no problems. When i get this new cable, i should replace my old one with this new one, even if i don't have problems?
