Alternator problems 04'/6.0 DRW
Help!
They replaced my alt. and both batteries 18 months ago, they said my alt.
had gone bad. The truck had about 30,000 on it when it was replaced. Now the truck has 44,000, I had the truck towed home last night! The engine shut down
on the way home, the engine cut out/ lost power several times it was also slow to start. Now the single wire coming off the back of the alt. is almost burned in two, very brittle. The connection are tight, could the wire have been broken and the alt. burned the wire? When I touched the wire is broke almost all away from the alt.
Any suggestion?

While doing all this, how hard is it to change a serpentine belt?

Palmetto, I get that check in a big way, if the main power wire from the alt is burning it sounds like you have some kink of power short that is directy in your power circuit
If your still under warrenty take it to ford as is and get them it diagnose it and fix it
