reflash computer/ecm?
I have a 97 F150 x-cab with the 4.6 liter engine with 120,000 miles on it.I bought the truck with the check engine light on at 97,000 miles.Don`t remember the code but it was the one that called for cleaning the carbon from the upper intake.Since i did that the truck has always idled semi-erratically.I have checked for vacuum leaks,changed pcv valve,plugs,wires cleaned MAF sensor.Ive also added an intake system(ebay),dual electric fans,and a 3inch single cat back exhaust and the truck seems to get worst gas mileage than before.I get about 14 in the city and no more than 15 on the hwy.Truck has an 3.55 gear.Would a PCM reflash help?Thanks in advance for all replies.
