F250 Header Question
I have a 1989 F250 with a 351 Windsor. I am having problems with the left side exhaust manifold cracking. I had it welded once and have replaced it twice. The last replacement was done as part of an engine rebuild. Now, it's broken again and after sucking fumes in the cab for a year, I want to get it fixed once and for all.
I think that replacing it with another stock manifold will be a waste of time. I have been considering installing a set of headers instead. I've found some that are called "shorty's" that look like they will bolt up to the existing exhaust pipe, which is what I want.
I have little interest in beefing performance or changing the sound. I simply want to stop the exhaust leak up front.
Any advice?
Thanks.
Mark.
