I've heard that also, the either wash's the oil off the cylinder walls or something like that...
BUT, letting any engine sit is hard on it
I'd start it and let it run for 15 min (or till opperating temp +5min)at least once a month... What's all keeping it from running?

All WD-40 is for is to REMOVE water condensation, its to "soak" rusted parts to "Help" remove that rusted part(s). IT IS NOT A LUBE...or oil.
Get a can and slowly read the label so you can understand it better.
If you are afraid of rust getting to the cylinder walls inside the engine, just squirt some 10w30 oil inside the cylinder spark plug hole (people that put their cars into storage do this all the time) and about two oz is all that is required. Spin it over without firing and leave it alone till you're ready to get it running again.

they do sell "fogging oil" which is what I used on my motorcycle before I put it away (prematurly, damn weather)
It's a very sticky arosoil oil, sticks to the internals... wd40 is NOT a lube, it's used for displacing water.
Something about ur sig, locknkey, that makes a whole lotta sence
