03 CC 4x4 "P" code rear spring
I have an 03 v10 CC (bought used) and can't find the p code listed in the door decoder. I have x code front and there is a slide in camper information sheet in the glove box. I have read about the snow plow package (and I guess I have it since the x code) and indeed the truck sits WAY higher than other 250s even with PSD's. It rides much stiffer (than other 250s) and if you hit a bump it seems like it will jump lanes. (new shocks, tires at 60 psi, ball joints good and recent alignment). I don't think its the "death wobble" but still not sure whats a normal 3/4ton truck wobble -I came from a 4x4 ranger- it drove like a car. It compares to our old 1970 chev 3/4 ton, (read scary as sh**) Anyone know what the p code means? Any easy way to distinguish a "normal" rough ride from the death wobble- I am in NC so there are pretty much no other x code trucks around here. Thanks and I have enjoyed the forum.

dzahm,
First off a SD is Not going to ever ride like a car or a Ranger PU. It is going to ride like a HD Truck. The rear springs on the F250 & F350 SRW SD are all the same rating. Some came with an additional overload spring and some did not. The overload spring has no effect on ride quality of an unloaded truck.
6830lb 6(leaves) 3.86(thickness @ pad) 58.1"(lenght) 3.00"(width) 320/670/1209(deflection lbs/sq") 3603(rating@pad lbs/spring)
This all comes from the tech folder.
An empty SD, especially one with "X" (6000 lb) front springs is going to bounce all over a rough road when it is empty.
As far as a "P" code is concerned, the only "P" code is for Front leather captains chairs.
Hope this helps

Front tires should be at 55psi...right? Even at that...you can drop the psi front/back even more if you are empty.
IMHO...you should contact your local dealer or salvage yard and try getting a set of front springs that are NOT X rated. Will help with the harshness...and create a ride that you will enjoy.

I know this is an old thread but I can't find what I'm looking for. My truck is leaning. It is approximately 1 inch lower on the left side. It is very visible and bugs the crap out of me. I noticed other people were having the same problem. I was thinking about just replacing all of my springs. My truck has approximately 131,000 miles on it. My spring code is UP. "P" is not listed under the tech folder. My truck has the camper pack according to the build sheet. It appears to have helpers in the rear. Is the P spring one of the better sets? I was thinking about getting the "X" springs for the front and another set of "P" springs for the rear. what are the actual part numbers for these? Thanks.

I would check everything on the TSB before replacing springs.
Here is the last number i had for springs:
Front U-code: F81A-5310-ACB (4800 lb.)
Front X-code: F81A-5310-AFA (6000 lb.)
Rear P-code: 3C34-5A975-C (note all rear springs are the same combined weight rating 6830 lb.)
