factory stereo install from probe?

I have a factory Ford CD deck from a 1997 probe that I had in my 1995 F-150.
Wiring plugged right in to the 95 worked like a charm. Now I am trying to install into my 1994 F-150 but have had no suck luck other than lights coming on the deck.

I ahve pulled the amp. from the 95 F-150 for the wiring and the deck to work together.

Are there any grounds req"d to be hooked up?

Lostin90s you had to switch wires where? I don't believe I have power running to the deck only instrument lights. Is it possible the hot wires are different colors from different years?

Any help guys.

Thanks

Subford I am not all that good at vreading wiring diagrams. I could use some coaxing along here. Or if somebody is aware of what wires need to be changed around that would be great.

My understanding is Ford changed the harness but not the color of any wires just locations coming out of the main computer harness.

Your problem is that the 1994 & 1995 Plug and amp are completely different.
You will need to pull all of the pins out of C212 on the 94 truck and put them back in the plug using the 95 C212 Plug layout.

Here is a diagram of the 94 & 95 C212 Plugs.

If the 1994 did not have an amp then the speaker plug would have looked like the one below.

Note that it does not have a power wire, ground or logic Mode wire. But this plug should plug into the radio and it should work without the amp.
