Bronco II Project

ok so me and a buddy just recently bought a "unworking" bronco II for 200 bucks. A new alternator later we have a decently working truck haha. Now heres the fun part. the exterior and everything els is scratched to hell and back so weve decided to just take everything off the chassis and make ourselves our own frame (roll cage). let me know of anything yall think i should do/add or anything. and as for the pipes and all.. im not sure what kind of pipe i should use or anything so feel free to help me out
thanks

You'd probably want to get DOM tubing / pipe for your cage and tube framing, etc. If you are going to fab up new frame rails as well, you'll probably want some pretty decent c-beam or "square" tubing material, preferrably thick wall, although, you'd probably want to keep the stock frame and build it up (unless you were going to do a solid axle swap or other drivetrain mods?), IMO. Just my $0.02

Roll cage should be DOM mild steel 2" x .125 wall. Frame should be a min. of 6"x2"x 3/16 channel if upgrading to full size axle or V-8.

Have you considered boxing the original frame or is it in too bad of shape to do this to it?

Sounds like fun. I'd be tempted to take the time to do a body-off-frame ground-up build. If things play nice and cooperate, you could probably box in the open side of the frame rails and do whatever reinforcement you like. Is it going to be a trailer queen or street-legal? Reason I ask is the tranny crossmember and exhaust. For clearance, you may want to modify the stock tranny crossmember, which may or may not take a little exhaust modification. You didn't mention what year, engine, etc. in your first post, so... that will also have a lot to do with things as well.
