I hate this my 292 is fighting me at every corner each time it'll get. I must have the first 292 a mid 292 and the last 292 ever made nothing fights like so. Today I had to mickey mouse a genator because the one that might have fit right was the broken one. The top hose on the motor for rad is 1.5 inchs the bottom is a two, it took me half a day to find a rad because the 57's was sold for copper. I still can't find a 1.5 inch hose. I have 3 different coil setups no ignition and some of my wires to the soleiniod are quite stretched. My latest problem is the carb. The throttle linkage was switched from the passenger side to the more current driver side of the carb. now I have to spend tommorrow outside striping down dads unibody to get that linkage then combine it with mine. Oh well one of those days this truck will get down even if the dang motor is controlled by duck tape.
Better get back to it if I want it done. Thanks for reading my P*** me off.

I have had lots of days like that when I`m working on old vehicles...
On my 57 F350 I changed the intake to get a better type of carb and of course alot more things had to be changed over because of that. Now the dry type air cleaner sits too high so it`s hard to remove and put back on as it hits the firewall, the choke cable has a different hook up and the throttle linkage was a real test to get working.
But now it fires up rite away, more power and runs alot better.
Oh don't worry I've already moved onto a biger problem. I had 3 solutions to my rad. Plan 1 failed because the one I had leaked my spare had a different size rad hose. and #3 failed because the rad on a 62 unibody is about 2.5 inches longer then a 57.
Now I have to try to solder up my firt rad. which well...... whatever
Well the rad is holding but i still need a inch and a half top hose that may be interesting too find. I got a generator setup just need a belt, kinda got a coil butneed to get my ignition from city and figure where all the wires hookup again gotta figure out what to do abo a hydralic line for my clutch, need to pump the fuel line to the tank, setup carb. (fun) and also fix my valves.... then it should be running probably have to tinker with the timing.
New to do list as of supper break:
Install ignition
Install carb. (foot feed done) (do tonight)
Re gap the rocker arms (do tonight)
one piece of fuel line missing have to find and install
adjust timing (after notor starts)
Rad hoses and liquid
Maybe if I put in my oil guage adjust rockers put on covers and finish the carb system tonight.
Tommorrow pick up my ignition switch and install make spark plug wires and wire in the motor, and the one small piece of fuel line maybe I'll get her started before Christmas.
Wow that would be the best christmas present EVER.
Well I called er quits after 11:15.
Tommorrow to do list
1) Install carb. didn't tonight because no base gaskets and had to make a "primer" rod (long story had to walk acrss the field twice to get parts
2) find install a fuel line from pump to carb, the one I planned on will not work
3) Find remove and install a small piece of fuel line
4) Make and install spark plug wires
5) Buy and install ignition, this will take awhile because this one is from a car
6) ignition wiring make one for in between the cab and motor
It'll be another long day but we'll see if I get the courage to try and start her up late tommorrow night (wish I had a video camera document her first words) (vroom)
