I'm in the process of building some new heavy duty headlight harnesses for my 01 F350 and was wondering.... I read on one of the vendor sites (one that sells the universal HD harness) that it is better to run an individual harness from each battery to its respective (same side) headlight on the Superduty specifically, therefore ensuring 14v per assembly. I just installed a pair of Matrix projector headlights with individual bulbs for high and low beam and want to upgrade the harnesses to ensure quality lighting. So my question is, can I run power directly from the positive terminal of the battery to a fuse block or do I have to use a switched source such as from the starter. In my mind the shorter run from the battery with a heavy gauge wire would be best and wouldn't be a big deal since I'll be using the factory harness to trigger the relays. I'm planning on installing one fuse block on each firewall along with circuit breakers...
I know the electrical section may be more appropriate but this is a Superduty specific question since the dual batteries. Thanks all!
I wouldn't do all that. One high strand count 12 or 10 guage wire will carry more than sufficient voltage to the relays. I would run one power lead to a fuse holder and to the two relays. Use atleast the same guage wire for the ground that you use for the power.
Food for thought but for what you guys are paying for some of these harness/ bulb combos you can have an HID setup with aftermarket wiring. $150.00 gets you true HIDs with aftermarket wiring and light output exponentially better than what you're used to.

Yea! Where do we get that for that money. I am interested.
I can't say because it's my business guys. I can say that we're not the only company that has them for this little however. It just takes a little searching.
I have HIDs in my Excursion, my Grand Prix, and my F150. It looks kind of goofy in the F150 since it's an older truck but I can see forever in front of me.
On my 2005 SD V10 4X4 reg cab I bought the harness from GOS Performance from some one on this web site a nice set up. hooks on to battery relays for high and low beam all plugins are using the factory ends no cutting the stock wiring and you can convert back to stock easy. I thnk it's a nice setup and it seemed to help on my truck I have the one up bulb from factory not silverstars and this harness seems to help on my lights.
