here is the question.. how much lift before you start noticing a big differents in the way the truck handles down the road? i gues ill throw in there to (the size of the tires to make the lift look proportional)
im asking because i think i want to do a 3 or 4'' lift, but the 5's adn 6'' lifts i think may be overkill, but at the same time i think it looks neet to. so im still questioning it all. . .
but i dont want to be fighting the truck as i drive it down the road.
Don't really understand what you mean by fighting. It's got a solid axle so you won't have any sort of camber issues. Go with at least a 6 or if you want to stay smaller just have a leaf added to the front and rearched for 3.5 and a leaf added to the back and it will save you lots of money.
i would not recommend an add a leaf in the front it will ride like a hay wagon. I have an add a leaf in the bak of mine and it bounces all over the place
dont some poeple put spacers in and get larger u bolts?
The 99 - 04 has leaf springs so there's no spacer for that, just an add a leaf leveling kit. The 05 to present is coil springs and on those you can do a spacer. This is all considering the truck is 4WD
You know what they say... you get what you pay for. I went with the Donahoe Racing 6 inch all spring lift and my truck handles better than it did stock. The only thing I would have done different is double shock the front. I'm saving the money to do that though.
I also threw 37s under it so it looks awsome! Rubs a little in the front wheel wells on the backside of the fenders but not too much that I can't live with it. My friend has a 6 inch lift on his F250 with 35s and I think his tires look small.

thanks..
How big? Looks like you have a crew cab so to look proportional you should probably go 8 inch with 38's to give it that "Stomper" look. As far as handling... all of the spring lifts will increase bounce. Larger tires will bounce and flex.
I would recommend staying around the 4" with 35" look. You may pull or haul sometime and I have had great luck with the setup.
I have seen 8" 38" rigs down sized due to the owner's wanting to pull 5th wheels.
Good luck because you have many choices.
I had 3 when I lifted mine.
Handling will vary based on quality of components that you use.
I run all Donahoe Racing suspension on my truck. At 9" of lift and 38" tires I can drive harder and corner harder/faster in the SD than I can in my stock 99 F-150 4x4.
Definately no fighting the truck, rides great.....even at speeds past 100mph.
