Has any body wired airhorns with a compressor and air tank usig the upfitte switches to toggle between factory horns and air horns and if so how did you do it
No, these are live wires and to do a relay on a dual horn set up all you need is a DTSP switch. The horn on your steering wheel is a negitive ground wire (Blue) that runs down the steering wheel on the lower right side. It grounds the horn connection when you press the horn button.
You could use an upfitter for powering the compresor so you can turn it off when you want. There are several threads on this. Look through some of the older ones like last Aug or Sept. I did a minor setup w/ small compresor, see gallery, and put the switch on the dash, to the right of the steering wheel.
You may be able to do this with a black box containing a switching relay. The relay could switch circuits depending on whether or not it has power to it and the switched power could come from one of your upfitter switches. Now you have exausted me and my wiring knowledge. Time for a nap.

I just finished installing my airhorn system. I decided to go with a momentary push switch on that piece of panel right under the headlight switch. I also have the SPST On/Off switch next to it too. This way, I have full OEM use of the regular horn and when I want, the push switch for the airhorn. Oh, and I just installed an air gauge too, but on the other side of the steering wheel in the same area. Now I can see what the exact air pressure is in the system.
