Exhaust question

95 PSD.

I'm fixing to replace the down pipe with one I bought from DPP. How much can I ecpect from this? Should I remove the cat? I was told this exhaust flows good and I wont see much improvement. I'm looking for economy, performance on this thing is great.

don't expect huge or even small returns for your investment. it may boost economy a hair. But don't expect it. That way you won't be let down. If you plan to keep the stock exhuast which does flow pretty good except the down pipe then I would gut the cat while you are there and install the downpipe.

Those two together may boost your mileage some.

I know that when I went with the bigger down-pipe, removed the cat and muffler, I lost a little bit of bottom end, but my truck has 3:55's. If I had to do it all over again, I would have gutted the cat and removed the muffler....
