1959 Light Switch
I am in the process of rewiring the 59 and an curious.
The 60 has a two piece light swith and the 59 has a switch the shop manual says should be used on heavy duty trucks.
On the 60, the dome light turns on when you turn the switch *** counter clock wise. On the 60, the switch turns the same way but the dome light connection is always hot.
Is it a defective switch or is this normal for the switch. Book really doesn't cover this issue.
"Pull the LIGHTS **** out to the first position to turn on the parking lights and tail lights". "Pull the **** out all the way to turn on the headlights". "Turn **** to brighten or dim the instrument panel lights". "To turn on the interior light, turn the **** counterclockwise all the way". Your switch sounds to me like it is broken. Hope this helps.

I am curious if the heavy truck type switch, which this appears to be, functions the same way.
I temporarily solved the problem by adding an on/off switch and picked up the hot pole for the dome light at the light switch.
I may be reading the shop manual incorrectly so any input would be helpful.
