i have an 06 350 xlt, it has the 6cd stereo and i was wondering where the auxilary input is so i can plug in my mp3 player(if thats possible)
thanks

Don't think the 06 came with one. You have to install the PIE FRDN-04 or some such. Takes about an hour if your inclined. Some seem to get access through the glove box.

If your deck has the AUX button, you have an AUX port. It was originally designed for the rear seat entertainment stuff in the Excursions. As it is a semi-proprietary port, you need something like P.I.E.'s FRD04-AUX in order to get the RCA's that will let you plug in a satellite radio or MP3 player in to the stock deck.
Looks like 2DLAKE has one that he/she is offering up, but here is what you would be looking for.
Worked like a charm, Ipod sounded 100x better than using an FM modulator. Only reason I took it out of my truck is because the wife bought me an aftermarket headunit.
I asked the same question. The PIE was 179.95 on the internet. No sure what 2DLAKE wants for his. For the price of a new one I will upgrade to a higher end Alpine or such and get the adapter to utilize my steering wheel controls. I was hoping it would be a simple plug - play but no such luck...
Just looked so I have to edit the original post. $89.95 is better so I might consider that. Same reason MP3 player...
It's really a no brainer.. Pop the dash off the clips (be careful with the wiring). Unscrew and pull the radio out and install the new PIE cable. The cable is really just an extension piece with an adapter for RCA jacks and a power line. Only problem I had was trying to figure out where to get power to the PIE device from... took me a while to find a hot line that was suitable (I use one of the upfitter positions to power my Sat Radio rig). I used it connect my Sat Radio and it sounds 100% better (no hiss or FM interfernce issues).
Bagger, the upfitter switches was just a convenience for me. You should be able to run a hot line from the fuse box if you don't have the upfitter switches. You could set it up that the unit is powered only when the ignition is on. I like to use the plastic in-line splicers that you can get at any Auto Parts Shop.
