It is a matter of safety, that the duration is limited. Is it really that difficult to hit a switch every 10 min or so? Do you live in the arctic circle?
to me it doesnt make sense, what is the safety issue that that have to shut off after 10 min, what will they burn your a$$. it wouldnt seem like they'd get that hot the seats in my mom caddie stay on constantly if you want them to.

Thank you Matt agree
Also my wifes Mazda Tribute heated seats can be on all the time too.
If any one knows easy way to fix this please let me know
THX
for now I will do the automatic reset every 10 min
Its like the heated rear glass on most cars. It times out so you dont forget to turn it off. Leave it on 24/7 and it burns out the elements that much faster. They arent very durable as it is. Your heater is capable of putting out about 160 degrees... I doubt you need heated seats if you use the heater for its intended purpose. Those seats arent designed to be an alternative to the main heater.
I had people wanting me to diag their heated seats in the dead of summer when it was 115 outside. The bloody things wouldnt even try to work in that heat and I sure wouldnt be able to tell if they were... sheesh some peoples children.

Agree with that
But when there is -30 outside, you may want to have them on for longer than 10 min
I wish my truck had heated seats.....Funny, my BMW roadster, which I dont even dare try to drive in the winter has heated seats....I find that pointless!!!

HA HA that was really funny to me for some reason, it makes sense though why would it have heated seats.. isnt that car primairly a summer car..... maybe you could swap seats lol
Some might think a BMW has heated seats so in the summer/fall when you drive it in the evening after the sun goes down and gets brisk, you can look at the stars and have a warm butt. However, the heated seats are mainly for the sport tuned suspension, they are so tight, the heated seats help to decompress your spine after hitting a pothole.
My truck is always warm before the seat heaters turn off. Even when it's -30 out. The ones in my Max stay on and I burned them out because I always forgot to turn them off. Seems like a smart idea to me.
